He must be an astronuat :P hehehe just kidding (but truely I wish that)

Anyhow, I took online test just to make it easy for u and here is the result:

"You're looking for a man who can be a pillar of strength and stability in your life. He's responsible, hardworking and successful in his career. You can definitely count on him to do what he says and say what he means. He'll talk openly with you about who he is and what's important to him in life. You'll be impressed by how he can see the "big picture" and have a vision of what he wants to accomplish, while still having a practical and down-to-earth style. Although you'll always have lots to talk about, it'll probably take time to get past his reserved demeanor and get to know him emotionally."

and yeah he must be good listener ;)
Purgatory said in September 27th, 2004 at 5:07 pm
Maryam, ok, but that does not answer the question for the common joe in the street you see and want to know more about, but I know you like astronauts, and not many walk in these streets :)
Maryam said in September 27th, 2004 at 5:36 pm
Ok, he must be funny, cheerful, good listener, logical, strong personality, easy going, open minded, hold tradition values, optimistic,
Is that what u want to know?
Purgatory said in September 27th, 2004 at 5:48 pm
Maryam, ok, that is much better.

Q8CG, yes it is longer than I expected, but it gives another perspective of what you look for. I will wait for more comments before providing a summary and comment on your comments.

How do you come with the 50 %? did you do a statistical analysis for men :P
Q80-Chill Girl said in September 27th, 2004 at 9:01 pm
Cant help not to get statistics in it :} cant take %'s off my mind !.. effected by the 5yrs i spent studying it.
Purgatory said in September 27th, 2004 at 9:41 pm
Q8CG, poor woman, must have been terrible :) five years of numbers and tables.

Jackie, long list like Q8CG, ma tesmoo3n elkalam :) anyways, are you sure this list is realistic? I mean, do you find guys with these qualities?
Jacqui said in September 27th, 2004 at 9:47 pm
Yes this list is very realistic.. hehe :P and I chose to keep the part about the findings quiet :P
shosho said in September 27th, 2004 at 11:21 pm
I only ask for one simple thing:

He has to accept me the way I am.
Purgatory said in September 27th, 2004 at 11:23 pm
Shosho,

that is my kind of answer.

wanderer said in September 28th, 2004 at 8:40 am

adventurer,
artist,
academic, or
activist

or any combination thereof! ;)
CiCi said in September 28th, 2004 at 10:27 am

Shurouq said in September 28th, 2004 at 11:47 am
I'm no sure what to look for in a man, but I'd definitely avoid a guy who doesn't appreciate music and rhythm.

There goes my comment, Purg. :)
Purgatory said in September 28th, 2004 at 12:45 pm
wanderer , thanks for your answer, but how did you find my blog :)?
Purgatory said in September 28th, 2004 at 12:46 pm
Shurouq, thanks for commenting :) hope you do it more and more.
yellow brick road said in September 28th, 2004 at 12:53 pm
simple, he should be a Muslim.

(thought I'd drop-in this answer/comment after boycotting some blogs!)
Purgatory said in September 28th, 2004 at 12:54 pm
YBR, Why did you decide to boycot blogs?
W. said in September 28th, 2004 at 1:43 pm
hehe is he tall? :p
Purgatory said in September 28th, 2004 at 1:46 pm
Wasma, Wasma, Wasma... You did not mention that before :) you only asked for a true architect.
Drunk'n'Gorgeous said in September 28th, 2004 at 2:04 pm
We should attract each other physically. (ya3ny ya3jibny shakla mo lazim WOW bas lazim ya3jibny)

We should challenge each other mentally. (ya3ny thaky bas mo bas thaky good grades because everyone can memorize a book, thaky bas he can think for himself, aby a'7ith o a36y ma3a)

We should agree with each other spiritually. (ya3ny muslim bas mo OVER, illy noo3a no english music o madry shino)

I want to be treated with mutual love, and respect. From him, I want companionship, and understanding.

Oh oh oh and he has to have a biiiiiiiiiiig heart (ya3ny noo3a yishoof a poor guy in the street 3ady yigi6 3alay 5KD) bill a7ra mo ji39 haha

A woman can change everything in a man except ill ji39, itha ba'7eel, it'll never change. So that's the most important thing I guess, having a big heart (ya3ny 6ayib mo ya3ny boglayb).

He can look at other girls (ba3ad shasawy) as long as he doesn't touch or comment on them. See? I'm being reasonable and realistic.
Purgatory said in September 28th, 2004 at 2:06 pm
DG, thanks for your contribution, too much stuff to ask for in one person :)
Grandma Funk said in September 28th, 2004 at 4:24 pm
I want someone who is stupid.
Easily manipulated by me and only me.
Blinded by me.
Does anything I tell him to.
Naive.
Strives to please me.
Innocent.
Believes anything I tell him even if it's so far fetched like, if I it's 12 midnight and he's at home waiting for me and calls me on my cellular to ask where I am and I pick up and tell him "Duh! I'm in the living room!"
Doesn't shout.
Doesn't argue.
Doesn't talk back.
Doesn't criticise me.
Doesn't have a temper.
Good to my family.
In love with me.
Q80-Chill Girl said in September 28th, 2004 at 4:26 pm
Well shosho certainlly got it right :) accept me the way i am .. about the long list & the writen obove as an addition to it, I would be very lucky to get a man with 70% of the stated by me :} he would b Mr. perfect & any % less is acceptable as long as its above 30%.
Purgatory said in September 28th, 2004 at 4:26 pm
GF, perfect fit.
Purgatory said in September 28th, 2004 at 4:28 pm
Q8CG, ok, sounds good to me, I need to do my own calculations to see if your numbers fit.
Drunk'n'Gorgeous said in September 28th, 2004 at 8:15 pm
Purg - you are right. If he has a big heart then he's prolly not attractive. If he's attractive then he's prolly not smart. If he's smart then he's prolly not religious. I guess I was asking for too much :(
Purgatory said in September 28th, 2004 at 10:04 pm
DG, true, interesting that you want a muslim :)
yellow brick road said in September 28th, 2004 at 11:09 pm
Purg, I have a feeling I'm gonna be sorry I answered your Q. :)
but here goes...
I did not boycott blogs, just the drunken ones. It seemed to me like there's a secret, kuwaiti, drunken, blogging, society which I did not know exisited! The other reason is religious conviction :)
Purgatory said in September 28th, 2004 at 11:12 pm
well I hope you check my blog, it is supposed to provide a sober alternative :)
Drunk'n'Gorgeous said in September 29th, 2004 at 12:10 am
*sarcasm* An intolerant muslim ... how rare *sarcasm*

As for you Purg, yes I am a muslim, good or bad, deep down I still am and always will be one. Yes, I don't think consuming alcohol is a sin but more on that in an upcoming post of mine so stay tuned! I'm assuming that's what you implied by "interesting".
CiCi said in September 29th, 2004 at 8:22 am
pug : ...and it was a general comment/reply

and surely the general fun of being sarcastic is gone once u actually have to spell out that u were being sarcastic...? (just as when u have to tell sm1 that it's a rhetorical question...like this one ..hehehheh ;))
Purgatory said in September 29th, 2004 at 1:37 pm
DG yes :)
Purgatory said in September 29th, 2004 at 1:38 pm
cici, ok :)
Drunk'n'Gorgeous said in September 29th, 2004 at 4:34 pm
CiCi - When communicating with people like Yellow Brick Road, you have to dumb down everything. Fun isn't an option.
Purgatory said in September 29th, 2004 at 4:36 pm
DG, you do not like YBR?
Drunk'n'Gorgeous said in September 29th, 2004 at 6:02 pm
Purg - We are all mature adults here... well ok mostly all of us but anyways Me? I have my views & beliefs (be they religious or otherwise) but I don't go dissin' everyone whose against them. I think of myself as a tolerant person.

When someone has a problem with me or my beliefs I'd rather they come out and say it in an intelligent yet non-offending manner, rather than go around behind my back and talk about me to other people without even confronting me or at least giving me a clue, a comment or whatever.

Take GiGi for example. She didn't agree with me on something, instead of going around and talking to other people about me or cussing me out or whatever, she made an intelligent unoffensive post to which I could reply and explain myself if I felt the need to, which I did. We were both mature about it, and I really respect Gigi for that.

Now YBR on the otherhand thinks it's funny to beat around the bush and insinuate things. Not only is that cowardly, but offensive as well. Hope that answers your question purg.
Purgatory said in September 29th, 2004 at 6:22 pm
DG, I do not think YBR meant you specifically, but then again I do not know the history between you two.
Drunk'n'Gorgeous said in September 29th, 2004 at 7:02 pm
My point exactly. Instead of coming right out and saying it, YBR opted for beating around the bush, so you can't ever be too sure who YBR meant.
yellow brick road said in September 29th, 2004 at 11:24 pm
LOL, shesalfah?! do I know u? do u know me? I merely posted a comment directed to Purg here, apparently THAT is bothering u :)

Drunk'n'Gorgeous said in September 30th, 2004 at 3:19 am
Talk about coincidence! PURG I was talking about the "Yellow Brick Road" in the classic "Wizard of Oz" movie, y'know with Judy Garland :)
Gigi said in September 30th, 2004 at 8:35 am
In a real man I look for strength.

Gigi, vaguely
Purgatory said in September 30th, 2004 at 9:41 am
YBR and DG, just be friends :)

Gigi, you want a body lifter ya3ni?
Chocolates said in September 30th, 2004 at 11:52 am
I look for a man. Not a boy, a man.
Someone who has a conscience.
Someone who has a goal in life.
Someone who's hardworking.
Someone who remembers me wherever he is.
Someone who prioritizes me in his life.
Someone who will be romantic and sincere.
Someone who's loyal.
Someone who has a life and friends.
Someone who will not judge me.
Someone who will accept me.
Someone who will listen and lend a shoulder to cry on.
Someone who doesn't minimize my problems.
Someone who will give me as much (or more) as I give.
Someone who'll spend on me from time to time.
Someone who'll respect me.
Someone who'll make me laugh.
Someone who's kind.
Someone who knows what arguements to pick and what to let go of.
Someone who'll take my breathe away.
Someone who'll love me forever and ever.
Purgatory said in September 30th, 2004 at 11:54 am
chocolates, another long list :) Hope you find him
Drunk'n'Gorgeous said in September 30th, 2004 at 1:21 pm
No purg. I said I was a tolerant person but I never said I was nice.

Ashkara a7ad yi'3ali6 3alay, o yiqalid illy ana katba on my sites and passes it off as their own (plagiarism) o ba3dayn ana agool let's be friends?
Purgatory said in September 30th, 2004 at 1:32 pm
hmm she does not have a site DG?
Drunk'n'Gorgeous said in September 30th, 2004 at 4:23 pm
I didn't say her site. I said MY site, and passes it off as her own in her comments. Check GiGi's post on alcohol, and you'll see what I mean.

Anyways regardless of what Grandma Funk thinks, I sugges you go take a fizzy vitamin c pill/drink thing :)
Purgatory said in September 30th, 2004 at 5:41 pm

Would anyone care to explain to me why there is any need for a life partner?
Purgatory said in September 30th, 2004 at 6:33 pm
You are the first male who commented on this blog :)

I cannot answer your question of course, the ladies are in charge, they have listed their wishes. Maybe one of them would reply.
shady q80 said in September 30th, 2004 at 9:07 pm
Would anyone care to explain why there is any need for a life partner/a roomate for eternity?
Gigi said in September 30th, 2004 at 10:55 pm
Purg, what on earth would make you think that I would be interested in an undertaker?

Gigi, facetiously
Purgatory said in October 1st, 2004 at 9:23 am
GiGi, you wanted a strong man, I did not say undertaker, unless you like wrestlers.
Drunk'n'Gorgeous said in October 1st, 2004 at 9:25 am
Shady check this link for a loooong post (and comments) about marriage.

http://www.kuwaitblogs.com/users/bozwayed/

Sorry Purg but I'd already written it down on another blog asking the same question. Hope you don't mind I posted a link.
Purgatory said in October 1st, 2004 at 9:30 am
DG, thanks for the info.
Gigi said in October 1st, 2004 at 10:19 am
A reason for the desire for a life partner:
So that even as the years drift by, you have someone who will always see you as the young girl he married.

Gigi, romantically
Gigi said in October 1st, 2004 at 10:24 am
Or:
You'll still have someone who will have sex with you when you're at the age of 60.

Gigi, crudely
Purgatory said in October 1st, 2004 at 11:07 am
:) Gigi, why shock the guy, just putting that image in his head :) although sex at 60 is not that bad, if one's body works.
Gigi said in October 1st, 2004 at 12:18 pm
Purg, I was poking fun at the fact that you said "body LIFTER"...

Gigi, jokingly

P.S. for the record: No, I didn't mean physically, and I think those buffed-up body-builder types are a MAJOR TURN-OFF.
Purgatory said in October 1st, 2004 at 12:22 pm
GiGi, ok, I will believe you :)
shady q80 said in October 1st, 2004 at 9:38 pm
This whole issue of life partner will be addressed at some point when I have sufficient time and words for it.

Purg, couldn't resist replying because it is an issue that had taken a good amount of processing time on my side i.e. i have formed my opinions on it.

D&G, thanks I will go through it when I can.

Gigi, why look for appreciation from other people? why connect your happiness to someone else's? and sex should be illegal after 40 unless you have a body like demi moore.
Purgatory said in October 1st, 2004 at 11:04 pm
Shady, feel free to reply or comment on any post. The people commenting here also have their own blogs, so you can also find out more about how they think through their blogs.

P,

I know this is an outdated post, or does 3 dimension rule apply? :0) But for me I am looking for my man to be my friend. To love me or hate me at times but to be a person that I know no matter what he will help me out.
