Purgatory said in October 8th, 2004 at 11:42 am
Interesting way of looking at it Soooma, squares have more space, but are not as beautiful as triangles.

Okay so now theres the normal side, the dark side, and now recently unleashed... the geeky side! Triangles?!
Shurouq said in October 8th, 2004 at 12:36 pm
Triangles are ok.. but I have a thing for circles.
Aristotle believed the circle was the "perfect" shape, and although the guy was a sexist and a snob, I can't help but agree with him on this particular viewpoint.

Of course this was proven wrong by Galileo (I think) later on, but still, CIRCLES RULE.
Purgatory said in October 8th, 2004 at 12:39 pm
GF, its not geeky, its pure beauty :)
Purgatory said in October 8th, 2004 at 12:41 pm
Shurouq, yes you are more into the idea of things going round and round, eternal continuation, in perfect plain and simple shape.

Of course, I like my triangles, because for me they are the essence of all what is beautiful, it starts there and ends there for me :)
shosho said in October 8th, 2004 at 2:05 pm
I'm fascinated by cones.

A cone is unique in combining a circular head with a majestic ray, that's why I love comets - they slide gracefully like an entourage of swans on a celestial lake, and our wishes come true.

(poetic mood)
Purgatory said in October 8th, 2004 at 2:26 pm
Shosho, yes fascinating description, it does bring a very vivid image to my mind. Note that a cone ends in point, which can be seen as a triangle in one way or another, so in reality, you do admire triangles also :)
AyyA said in October 8th, 2004 at 2:52 pm
Ok guys
Since I'm a free bird I like lines, they come from infinity and go to infinity. No walls no borders only fantasy, but a triangle slaps me back to reality back to the Bermuda triangle " Iraq, Iran, SA"

ok Nelly :)
Q80-Chill Girl said in October 8th, 2004 at 2:57 pm
I once read in an art book that artists who draw triangles take friendship very seriously & go to the extent where they devote them selves to it, this is a book's writer opinion (psychologist) but in my opinion triangles are beautiful I share the interest in them with you Purg. :}... This is a nice post 3aks the one that was yesterday!!
Purgatory said in October 8th, 2004 at 2:58 pm
Q8CG, told you not to be scared :)
shosho said in October 8th, 2004 at 4:18 pm
Purg - a cone is a cone, a triangle is a triangle, a trapezoid is a trapezoid, a circle is a circle, a square is a square, a cylinder is a cylinder (hmmm it seems I'm interested in them too) - they might be related but in essence they are different.
Purgatory said in October 8th, 2004 at 4:26 pm
Shosho, yes in essence what you say is true, but many of these shapes are basically combination of other shapes. So a cone does contain a few triangles.

As for the cylinder, slim cylinders would be wire like, while wide cylinders would be more like towers. Depending on how you view shapes and how you appreciate a certain structure in form and depth. I think you would have to be an architect to relate more to such 3D shapes, am more of an engineer, so a flat triangle is good enough for me :)
nibaq said in October 8th, 2004 at 5:05 pm
Triangles are magical. There is so much history behind it like the angles and distances. Just the 30-60-90 angle system blows my mind at times. I use that when I walk or drive, cause then I know which is the shortest distance.

One great books is Zero: A biography of a dangerous idea. Talks a lot of the history and the politics of math especially around the number 0. They also discuss other "cults" that feared 0 like Pythogorus and Aristotle for it was concerned the void, and nothing.

What the hell is that supposed to mean .. ?

P72 .. you think about triangles? sounds kinda kinky.. in a weird twisted way.. ;)

U both have to b on P72's matrix to know what's goin on.
yellow brick road said in October 9th, 2004 at 4:49 pm
I don't know why, but triangles remind me of gay people. I'll blame that on my trip to Cape Cod!
Drunk'n'Gorgeous said in October 9th, 2004 at 5:11 pm
Purg - Yup, I was :)
Purgatory said in October 9th, 2004 at 5:39 pm

YBK, waleeen bedeena again with gays, what is in cape cod anyways?
Purgatory said in October 9th, 2004 at 5:41 pm
PSS and chocolates, really? what is wrong with shapes, I like triangles, shosho likes cones, shurouq likes circles, everyone has their own shape :) or are you afraid to admit you like certain shapes?
Purgatory said in October 9th, 2004 at 5:42 pm
Rabab, they have some sort of alliance I think, am sure they have seen something in the post that made them say so :)
PinkSuedeShoes said in October 9th, 2004 at 9:18 pm

P72:
Cape Code is the capital gay city of the States.
PinkSuedeShoes said in October 10th, 2004 at 8:46 am
Rabab,

Correction, That is San Fransisco. Cape Cod is Not all Gay. Province Town, otherwise known as P-Town, is the gay capital of the North East, I suppose, and yes it is found in Cape Cod.

PSS :)
Purgatory said in October 10th, 2004 at 9:34 am
Cod, Code, P-town, SF, what does that have to do with my post? this post is about triangles and one's love for shapes and structures, not gay city USA :P
Amunki said in October 10th, 2004 at 10:42 am
Here's my attempt to psycho-analyse your fascination with the "triangle"...

You like tension
You like to be on top
You are goal-oriented
You are practical, but unorthodox
You like simplicity, but not the ordinary
You love women
You want to have a couple of women

Hmmm....
That's it for now.
If I come up with anything else I'll let you know

p.s. These are simply "MY interpretations" based on my assessment of your personality and the shape itself...
I am NOT judging you, nor do I care to.
I am not trying to "challenge" you to prove the points I made wrong :)
(cuz I know you love to be the antagonist)
These are simply my observations.

Have a nice day!
Purgatory said in October 10th, 2004 at 10:46 am
3amunki :) interesting points, some of which are true, you actually took the time to analyse the shape and relate to my personality.

Let me put on my psychic hat and add to Migrant Mind a.k.a Amunki

U like close family bonds.
U are protective when it comes to ur relations with close ones.
U fantasize threesome
U are well organized and prefer law and order, routine doesnt seem to bother u.
U hate wasta
U r self centered
U r an optimist
U might not b religious but u strongly believe in god.
U have suffered some loss in ur past, but it was for the better coz it made u stronger
U r not as open minded as u want people to believe
Hey, I think Im not too bad ay!

It's because they have a big triangle on their flag, that's why :)
(and I don't mean the Cape Cod flag)
