Hello hello hello!

nice to see that you're back and relaxed. I slept today at 11:30 am because I FINALLY had a phonecall from an office and they requested my CV - It feels like ages (3 weeks bs) since I have submitted my CV that I hesitated sending it via email.

(goosebumps all over)

Anyway, I recieved a reply which verified my emails arrival at its detination *wa lellaah el7amd*

(fingers crossed)

As for birthdays, mine will be soon - in Ramadhan just like last year. Too bad there won't be alnakheel* to celebrate it in ;(

I guess thats about it..I ran out of things to say,, or "type" even,,, so ta taaa
W. said in October 16th, 2004 at 11:55 pm
oh yes forgot to mention this
Alnakheel is a very famous local restaurant (one of Jeddah's landmarks) has amazing food (mixture of lebanese, hijazi and some snacks - they make the best sa7lab on this planet!) all served in a traditional Hijazi atmosphere. Seating ranges from "Dakkah" which are high elevated wooden chairs/tables those are placed in the middle of the restaurant (for small groups and those who didnt book in advance (and can't afford to bakhsesh the manager) - and for those who CAN afford some cash under the table (1000SR - ???????) will be seated in the VIP area located along the parameters of the restaurants. Those seats overlook the courniche and restaurant + excellent ventilation (for Shisha smokers 6b3an)

The place to be during ramadhan after 2/3 am to see and be seen till athaan time. Lovely place!

Rabab

Thanks, well I am not sure about depression after vacation, but I have no desire to go back to work :)

As for blogging, well no one said I would be off for a long period :)
Purgatory said in October 17th, 2004 at 2:29 am
W.,

Thanks and glad you have something to look forward for :)

As for the food, must be nice, although I have no clue what 7ijazi food would be :)
W. said in October 17th, 2004 at 2:43 am
Typical Hejazi dishes @ Alnakheel

Mantu & Yaghmush = Hijazi dim sum / Dumplings

Mutabbag = layers of thinned bread, meat and veggies (tomatoes and parsley)

or the sweet version of Mutabbag where meat/vegs are replaced with bananas and topped with the fattiest cream ever (upon request) or a la mode (3ad hathe motha jdeedah)

I guess thats about it - the rest aren't really Hejazi so I'll refrain from mentioning 'em.

You work outside Q8, very nice.

Any openings? :)
Purgatory said in October 17th, 2004 at 3:02 am
Shady, check with the company in Kuwait, they have selection centers each year, though I would recommend another company :) or even stay in Kuwait, its not as bad as you might think :)
Purgatory said in October 17th, 2004 at 3:06 am
W.,

these dishes sounds odd to me, but then again never had 7ijazi food.
W. said in October 17th, 2004 at 5:11 am
If you ever get the chance, I would suggest something called "Ruz Bukhari" which consists of Rice and meat with spices all over. Home made ofcourse.

Tamees (Afghani bread) chewy a little bit, semi rough when dry, texturous. Has several types
Normal, or normal with sesame seeds sprinkled all over, or the "Bskoot" 3ala goolat'hom type. which happen to be very fragile/breaks easily and litteraly melts in your mouth.

Dandan & Satay (dindin wo saateeee) = Indonesian meal consists of glass noodles, chicken & veggies cooked with countless indonesian spices
(those of you who had phillipino nannys would know this dish as "Panset")

More suggestions?! ;p

What's goin on guys? Not only eljam3ea is crowded with starving ppl also the bloggers seem to have nothing 2 talk 'bout but food, guys u'r makin me sick. Chk all other blogs food, food, food
shosho said in October 17th, 2004 at 4:19 pm
Rabab - it's natural, people tend to talk about what they are denied. If you are fasting you talk about food, if you are single you talk about marriage, if you are broke you talk about money, if you are sad you talk about happiness....can't beat this human tendency to long for what's missing.

Purg - not a word about P4? How about dedicating the 100th post to P4? I think he will like it :D
Purgatory said in October 17th, 2004 at 7:37 pm
Shosho, I will think about it.

Hmm. Vacation I am trying to remember what that word means ??!!

Last time I was on Vacation, other than the weekends of course, was last years August.. thats right August 2003.. god damn it, I hate the fact that I still cant take my yearly leave, but I love the fact that my job depend on me so much, that they wont let me go on leave.. Vanity.. definitely.. my favorite sin.

Id give an arm and a leg for having your same feeling purg, the feeling of getting home.. I used to have it when I used to live alone in Orlando.. well, I guess not an arm and a leg, I wont be able to ride my Harley then.. :)
Purgatory said in October 18th, 2004 at 2:16 pm

Purgatory said in October 18th, 2004 at 2:18 pm
The Don,

Yeah well this was my first real vacation in 5 years, so I should be the one wondering about it :)

My advice, take one and screw work, let them solve their own problems.
