I was watching TV when a video for Michael Jackson started and that reminded me of a plan once discussed of driving all the way to Bahrain armed with a video camera to shoot a reality trip of a group of friends trying to find Michael Jackson in Bahrain and the struggles they face.
Now imagine that this actually happened and it turned into a movie, expand that a bit further in your mind and start developing characters of those people, and you will have the following:
1) The Techie, he is the one who knows how to use the equipment, computer geek and expert.
2) The Goof, the one who always gets into trouble.
3) The Beauty Queen, can be blonde for emphasis, like guys and flirting, daughter of a rich tycoon, yet a rebel.
4) The Tough Guy, the person who is ready for action and fights anywhere.
5) The Fat Dude, usually wacky John Bellushi type.
6) The smart girl, think of Velma from Scoopy Doo.
I had a 7th character in my mind, but he was late, maybe he will show up in Bahrain?
Anyways, as this group of friends travel to Bahrain, they meet strange characters, such as:
- The guy in the remote gas station who has not seen much people, lets call him Bubba, usually without much teeth, facial hair not groomed, smells like sweat.
- The conservative couple with their kids, The Bu3a3a family, cursing everything Jackson like as demonic, shouting " repent you sinners"
- Young Adults traveling seeking adventure in the desert, lets call them Cheech and Chonga, looking for the free life, maybe under influence of drugs.
As the group gets close to Bahrain, they start sensing danger, as strange events start to happen around them, some get hurt, some even die on the way, and this is all documented on video (insert girl with snot crying somewhere in video)
Skip forward to the end and some make it to the AlwaysAlways Ranch on the outskirts of Manama, and they sneak in, and get into the Jackson Dark Chamber, only to find out that the Jackson in Bahrain is not Michael, but Tito!
If this inspires you to draw something, go ahead (this means Erzulie, 7/10th, Gigi)

There has to be a pet they pick in the way, but 6 people are too much. 4 or 5 is the best number for a coming of age story in Bahrain, since it is a small country. Won't fit 6 people at the same time, the island may drown.

Nibaq, Jermaine is big in Qatar, so thats another trip.
As for the number of characters, true, I think Bahrain can fit 6 (or 7) people, its a kindgom now, so its bigger than it used to be when it was an emirate

As for the characters; you need the techie/geek who comes out of his shell, the hot guy who gets the women and so on, the nice guy looking for something (in this case, seeing his idol .. Jackson) and the funny/sarcastic guy.
If you were to exceed the standard 4, there has to be an ulterior motive. The road trip or adventure can not be intiated with more than 4. The people on the road trip can meet the others on the trip, and they join them .. or require their assistance.
Furthermore, hot women are not considerd part of the crew as they are somewhat expandable .. their only purpose is to add scenery.
After comparing your original list of characters and the rules above. The following can work:
1. Fat and the Goof are one character.
2. Techie
3. Tough Guy
4. Smart Person (girl or guy)
The beauty queen is part of the scenery.

K, that is another form of movie, but can be more fitting, however, one of those guys has to be rich yet weak, so he has to be the goofy one. The Fat dude is the party animal. Now Techie can be goofy, but maybe that is stretching it a bit. So we make smart dude the techie as we cannot have smart girl in movie, ruins the plot with 3 other guys.
Therefore, revision is possible.
