I was thinking random thoughts and then I thought about two random things but while writing this post they connected.
The first are nicknames. I tend to save people name's as nicks in my phone most of the time, not by their real names. I do not know why I do it, but I guess I associate them with their on-line character most than with their real life characters. Sometimes I do not even remember their names and sometimes I tend to call them by their nick names (esp. if it sounds better than their real names).
The second are password. Everyone choose password based on a memory, nickname, birthday, mother name, pet name and so on, so we each have a unique way of selecting password.
Now if we think about the two we come to the conclusion that the choice for nick names and password reflect who we are to others. While the password is hidden, it can be connected to the real person if the online nickname is not really descriptive of the real person.
Just for info, my password has nothing to do with my nickname, and vice versa, I tend to seperate the two. So I can be labeled as a double un-crosser, a person who does not match nicknames with password, so therefore they do not double cross.
Are you a double crosser?
