I wish I can do that. I'm addicted to my phone. I check it with the same frequeny I check my emails. I have to always answer calls I missed and always reply to msgs, even those that do not necessarily require a reply. It's always next to me wherever I go.

madry 3ala sheno ma6fooga. It's not like the calls/sms/emails I get are all that important anyway :) Most of them can easily be ignored, and the rest can always wait (it's not like my patient who just got our of surgery urgently needs me. i'm not that kind of doctor :)

it is really relaxing, i do that when i'm traveling. we so attached with mobiles. and whenever someone calls us we have a responsibility to answer or call back when we see the miss call, which make us lose our privacy, and miss the old days when we used only the home lines

you're wise to do so... my father advised me to turn my mobile silent when I complained about it disturbing me in the middle of a much needed rejuvenating sleep (weirdly I never thought about it) ... now it's bliss!

by the way interesting name... although it gives me the creeps when thinking about it... I guess this is your point.. isn't it?

I know what you mean. I got my phone late in life compared to my peers (18). Introverted and anti-social by nature, I never got the attraction of being so annoyingly reachable (not to mention traceable and easily located). I like every other type of gadget, but I barely pay my cell any mind. I forget about it for days on end, resulting in dressing downs by parents and friends. I had to change the ringtone shortly after I chose a favorite song of mine because I started to resent it. Now that I think of it... I think it's been dead for a couple of days and I'd forgotten to recharge it. Ah, well. Better make sure that no one's died in the interm.

Cell phones can be quite binding.
It is good to get away and be unreachable too.

I'm with snocone. I get in trouble for not being reachable. So inaccessible is the new black - and silence is the ultimate luxury.
