The stone gods where symbols of good people that people worshiped and respected, they then started asking them for things thinking that God will not hear from them; years have past and the habit was inherited with some changes until people thought that those stones where gods.

So this statue will do no harm, though I think it's kind of freaky :/

lool >> pagan (still tra good choice of words)

But you’re absolutely right about criticizing such thing and it’s very mindful of you to have noticed this…many would not even care (unfortunately of course)…

However… I don’t think people in charge would give a damn if someone is to notify them of this…. I noticed for a looong time now that Qatar is being liberal (in a bad way) about things related to religion and sometimes even common courtesy (plz haters I didn’t generalize…some people in charge not all of course)

btw hope my comment won’t get with the spam as usual (your system hates me for some reason)

One would wonder at your familiarity with Ye Olde Pagan Gods. :p I actually have no problem with Pagans and think they can celebrate their Samhains and Solstices in peace as far as I’m concerned, but it’s not my cup of tea.
That said I believe as Muslim countries we should be very careful about treading around that territory. Quick note though, that kind of Paganism is European in nature (Celts, Druids, and what have you) as the ones worshiped in the Arabian Peninsula were more… humanoid idols.
Although… I think the onyx is kinda cute, not at all like the skeery looking goat god fella. Plus, yay all this occult oriented talk made me think of one of my current favorite shows, Supernatural! Preeeeeetty brotherrrrrs. SnoCone likes like preeeciooouss. Come to Smeagol. Ahem, yes.

Total Hoot - "Orry" a pagan - he's a very child-like oryx, with those big soulful eyes. Your mind definitely works in mysterious ways, Purg. And all my friends are fleeing Doha right now . . . not enough room on the roads, not enough hotel rooms, things not finished (roads, hotels, facilities) and not enough food for restaurants and stores!)
