" Neil Strauss is a Los Angeles-based author and journalist who writes for The New York Times and Rolling Stone, where he is a contributing editor. He is well-known for his best-selling book The Game. "

I just finished that book, and it was a very intresting read. It talks about the transformation of a writer to a Guru, the ultimate Pick-Up Artist (or PUA). It is a true story detailing his experiences and interactions and how he overcome all the obstacles to be the leading PUA. This story is not fiction, it is real. This is a picture of him, showing the differences before and after he became STYLE.

To me, the story felt like a mixture of movies such as Fight Club, Saturday Night Fever, and also reminded me of a book I really enjoyed, The Dice Man.
The book is mainly for men, but maybe some women can enjoy reading it. It is not only about women, sex, hook-ups, but also goes deeper into the psychological analysis of behavior and how we men and women see each other. To give you a glimpse, some of the characters are Courtney Love, Tom Cruise and Paris Hilton.
This is one of my favorite paragraphs in the book :
" How are you?" I asked. That is one of my usual openers. Just something you hear every day from the grocery store clerk. Ninety five percent respond with a one-word, noncomittal answer: "fine" or " okay." Three percent respond with enthusiasm: "great" or "super." Those are the ones you learn to stay away from - they are nuts. And two percent respond with an honest, "Terrible, my husband just left me for his yoga teacher's receptionist." Those are the ones you love."
Another thing I found out is that there is this place in Europe, called Transdniester, or Transnistria. Again from wiki,
" Transnistria (also Pridnestrovie) is a de facto independent republic within the internationally recognized borders of Moldova in Eastern Europe. Transnistria declared independence on September 2, 1990 (as the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic) and subsequent to the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 has exercised de facto control over most of the Transnistria region, located between the Dniester River and Ukraine. The capital city is Tiraspol.
Transnistria fought a war for independence in 1992 and is seeking recognition as an independent state. Its independence has not been recognized, and its legal status continues to be an issue of contention. It functions as a sovereign country with its own postal system and stamps, police, military, currency, constitution, flag, national anthem, coat of arms, and has its own parliament and government."
After reading the book, and analyzing the way people decipher and plan moves to approach women, or even men, I began to think of how I interact with people in real life, and how I indirectly have used similar techinques to achieve a certain goal, or deliver a certain message, or even get to know someone better. However, I doubt the book will change the way I interact with people, or women, then again, am a chubby chaser, so my market is secured (even Saudi Arabia has an increase in chubby women, Wohoo!!)
The book is being made into a movie, most likely it will be in the form of a comedy, and released this year, or next.
