When I started blogging in 2004, we were few, about two hands and one foot and a half (depending on how many toes you have). Since that time, blogging has evolved to become common in Kuwait. Through-out this process, I have stayed true to the Purgatorian Doctrine, which is writing what I want, without thinking whether it is understood, liked, or hated.
Recently, bloggers have exposed themselves to the public, via political activities and media. The majority of these bloggers can be classified as main-stream, or pesudo-main-stream, in the sense that they talk about daily life, their views, and matters that interest the common man. So while eating my cheese sandwich, watching Brainiac, I started to think, where do I fit?
The essence of this blog is to be different, for the sake of being different. It is not meant to shock, not meant to please, nor meant to gain public support or approval. It is just a "different" blog. Neverthless, I have gained several followers, and even inspired people into blogging, changed their lives and their perspectives, but does that make me main-stream? No.
I see this blog as an Indie Blog, if I can use that expression, somewhat underground, with its constant flock of fans and readers. After close to 1000 posts, it is still an active and always changing blog. Being Indie, or Undie (short for underground, but with a twist), makes me free to express my thoughts in the oddest ways. I can mumble rubbish, and people would still read it. I can say something that can start you to think different, people would still read it. They still read it, amazing isn't it?
You never hear about this blog in the media, nor is it classified as the most read blog, however, everyone wants to meet Purgatory, even the females, my inspirational muses for several posts.Maybe penguin posts were about females? ... I will let you think about that.
Big Salute to all my undies (i.e readers).
