I was talking to someone who just ordered two burgers at this time of the evening, and then the conversation shifted to Avenues. Some of you know I hate malls, and I do not go to them unless I really, really need something from a certain store. So that made me think about history of malls, so quick search gave me a link on Wiki, then in that article I saw a link to another interesting site called deadmalls.com
The site features shopping malls that have failed or are in the process of failing and has roughly 300 listings of dead or dying shopping malls, many with pictures and historical background.
This also made me think about my childhood and my experiences in Kuwait. Although I cannot classify New Salmiya as a shopping mall, nevertheless I enjoyed going there, to Barakat, Waleed, that arcade place upstairs, and icecream from the vendors on the side, it was pleasent.
Now mostly we do not really have deadmalls in Kuwait, but compared to your own childhood days (assuming you are over 18 and read my blog), which mall would you classify as a deadmall in Kuwait and which one would you classify as a dying mall? You can also mention your favoirte mall.
