No, not another book, but a movie. I had forgotten why I downloaded this movie, then at the end I remembered. This movie is directed by one of the directors of the Blair Witch Project. Do you remember the hype around that movie and how many believed it was true? Well this time we know its a movie, but it was an interesting 90 mins.
While the movie lacks a leading star, the movie is interesting to watch, as you want to know more what is happening, and mid-way you discover it is some sort of Science Fiction Movie. I will not say more to spoil it in case you want to watch it.
During the movie, someone mentioned that Alexander the Great encountered UFOs during his escapades. Which made me wonder, so I did some quick searching online, and several sites mention that, however, one cannot verify it to be true, unless you believe in UFOs
1."Date: 329 BC Location:Central Asia,
Summary: Alexander the Great records two great silver shields, spitting fire around the rims in the sky that dived repeatedly at his army as they were attempting a river crossing. The action so panicked his elephants, horses, and men they had to abandon the river crossing until the following day."
2. "Perhaps someone can help to determine the truth or fiction of a claim that [as reported], while crossing a river in 329 B.C., Alexander the Great encountered "silver shields" that swooped down and attacked his troops. It is further claimed that seven years later the shields appeared again and "fired a beam of light" that destroyed part of a wall at the city of Tyre.
These two claims are often made, and in the latter case, the claim is that these events were recorded by observers on both sides of the battle. In the past I have often found that be they true or not, accounts such as these are a part of the historical record. Examples range from the biblical and heretical writings to ships logs, and from military reports to personal accounts like those in the diary of the explorer, Nicholas Roerich. However, in this case I can find no reliable source for the claim. If it is true that this was reportedly observed, it would certainly be a striking footnote in history."
There is also a mention of the British Battle in the 19th Century where only ONE survivor from the whole army was left, " ..the entire force of 690 British soldiers, 2,840 Indian soldiers and 12,000 followers were killed or in a few cases taken prisoner. The 44th Foot lost 22 officers and 645 soldiers, mostly killed. Afghan casualties, largely Ghilzai tribesmen, are unknown.." Very fascinating.
Watch the movie is interested in a quick strange movie.
