I have had food in many establishments around Kuwait lately, and for some reason, food does not taste like it should be. I have been to at least 10 of my normal hangouts, and only a few of them maintain the good taste of their dishes, while many are too bland, too salty, or sometimes damn nasty.
Usually I do not complain, but I have been doing this more often, and the answer I get ranges from "We changed the Chef " to "NO, nothing changed!!" This is besides the lousy service. Where do they train waiters these days? I am not talking about rude waiters, but more of lack of adequate service.
I will not list the places where I have had bad food experiences, but instead list the places where food and service has been good as usual.
1) Edo - Ok, no more Crispy, but we should it get it soon.
2) WaterLemon (or is it Melon, I can never remember) - what I like about them is they ask in details how I want my food.
3) Genki Sushi - My Edo replacement when I do not feel like Edo.
4) Coffee Republic. Besides the quality of drinks and food, they give me 20 % discount and its not the service charge trick many restaurants use! ;)
5) Caribou.
6) Cafe Organica.
I have a few more, food was still good, but their service is not up to bar, so will not list them either.
I know most of you do not even click on the songs I put, but this is a story worth telling.
In 1989 I heard a song on the radio, and did not know the name of the song. So I went to my favorite joint in Salhiya looking for it, and they did not know. Last week around midnight after finishing my Korean movie which ended with an Alan Parsons song, I started looking for other songs, which lead me to another, until I remembered it. After a hectic search between midnight and 1 a.m. I ended finding the song!!! Twenty years after, I found it!! I am surprised I still remembered it, but am more surprised that I found it.
There is no youtube video of the song or the music, except some other versions which do not quite fit properly with what I heard, but here is an .avi file.
