I was scribbling on my post-it and used my black, blue, green and red pens, then I started to think, why are pens designed with these four colors? I know they have created more colors now, but the majority of us have used only these four colors, so who-why? I could not find a clear answer, but I found this information.
- Marcel Bich secured the patent rights to the ballpoint pen, invented by Ladislao Biro and in 1950 gave the world the Bic pen. He chose the name Bic as a shorter variation of his own name because he feared that English speakers might mispronounce Bich "bitch."
- The most common versions of pens are the three-colour pen, which has black, blue, and red. Bic has made a four-colour pen for a long time that also has green ink.
- One unusual version of the 10-colour pen (never knew they existed) was sold during the early 90s at The Nature Company stores had scented ink.
Many times I see people wearing a pale yellow shirt with suits and some odd tie. I do not understand how an ugly pale shirt can be attractive to wear, and I notice that most people who wear that are from Middle Eastern countries or East Asia, so WHY!!
I was looking at a website yesterday to search for gifts, and I found a brand called Makuti. WHY!!!
Everytime I am next to the elevators and click a button, I wonder which elevator will come, and try to figure out the pattern, WHY??? Purgatorian Post #1244
Today I was somewhere, doing something we all do, and I saw a calendar, and I was looking at days, and they went from Sat. till Fri., then my mind started wandering to the usual place of useless, yet valuable, thoughts and the following spit out: how come the first day of the week is Sunday in Arabic??? I will write this post in English for the benefit of Lady Freckles.
Let me explain. In Arabic, Sunday is called Ahad, followed by Alathneen, Althalatha, etc. till Alkhamees then you have other two days. Now compare the sequence to numbers, they go from 1 to 5, Sunday till Thursday, with Friday and Saturday not following any number sequence. Now that start our weeks on Sunday, it seems logical from a binary and computer way of thinking, however, this has not always been the case.
Now, take out all the religious and historical references for the start of the week, input the data in your computer (i.e. that bulk inside your head), and tell me, why did is it that Sunday is selected as the first day of the week and assigned with the number one??
