“We were manhandled,” Perez said. “We were threatened not to protest at this event. I think that needs to be said. We were made to sign a document not to protest ... It was a very big thing. There was a table, you went up to the table, (and) you signed the document. You signed it in front of the secretary general (of the WTF) and you gave him the document.”

Perez said he was approached again by WTF officials on Friday after his protest was denied. This time, Perez said, they were asking him not to speak to the press.

“I was asked to compromise (again) five minutes ago,” he said. “They said, ‘Don’t tell anyone.’ The head of the WTF came to me and said, ‘Don’t speak to the press.’ The secretary general said, ‘Don’t do this.’ (Secretary General Jin Suk) Yang and (WTF president Chungwon) Choue said, ‘Herbert, don’t do this. Think about the future.’ ”

The WTF’s director of public relations, Seok-Jae Kang, vehemently denied .... a “no protest” pact, calling the claim “nonsense.”

Ok the above is taking from Yahoo Sports. It is about Taekwondo, and WTF is the World Taekwondo Federation, but I bet you thought otherwise, even if you knew WTF was WTF and not the WTF that you thought it was.

As many have been doing these past few days, ThePurg has been following the Olympics. The time differences makes it a bit annoying to follow, but it is still interesting.

Did you know that the Olympics has never been held in a South America Country? The closest country in the South is Mexico. Of course Africa will never get the chance, but it is odd that since 1896, no South American Country has hosted the Olympics.

So far the highlights for me in these Olympics:

- Angry Swedish Wrestler
- Greek Female Weightlifter - Yummy!
- Twisted Arm Weightlifter - Ouch!
- Belgium Football Team
- Michael Phelps facial expressions when he wins

I am also close to finishing another book, review coming soon.

I have been waiting for the new league seasons to start and I was happy to find something to watch to entertain me during this month.

Beach Soccer is a sport with fast movements, and almost every team has a chance to win. It only takes a second or less to score a goal. I have seen many exciting games, spectacular goals and last second goals that would keep you at edge of your seat. There are no underdogs, well except the Solomon Islands, but the rest are more or less evenly matched. The UAE is one the countries representing Asia and will host the 2009 edition.

The old perception that Beach Soccer players are retired 40+ year ex. soccer players is no longer valid, with most teams having young players with high skills. Where else can you watch games with an average of 10 goals per game in a span of 36 minutes (game is split in 3 thirds, 12 mins. each).

I highly recommend you watch it if you want to kill the time until football starts again, it is shown on ART Sports 3 and some matches also on Eurosports. Also, if you are lucky, you can watch girls in bikini during breaks between each third on Eurosports.
